LAKE FOREST, IL — The Lake Forest estate built by the co-author of the 1909 Plan of Chicago, Edward H. Bennett, saw its latest price drop last month.
Now, you can own a truly historic piece of Chicago architecture for under $3.4 million. Bennett built the French Renaissance-style estate in 1916.
Its main building is more than 9,300 square feet, and the two acre lot features two other buildings, including a six-room coach house and an artist's studio.

The property, dubbed "Bagatelle," includes a fountain with a smaller version of the Buckingham Fountain, which Bennett designed.
It was originally listed for $4.25 million in April 2015. Former Sears CEO Alan Lacy is the house's current owner, according to Crain's.
