Evicted Man Who Has Threatened Police Seeks Assistance
Lake Bluff police assisted the Lake County Sheriff's Department with a call from a man who has threatened officers in the past.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department requested backup from Lake Bluff police Oct. 14 after receiving multiple complaints from a Knollwood resident who has threatened officers in the past.
Lake County Sgt. Sara Balmes said the man, who suffers from mental illness, called police three times that day. His complaints included a report that he had been battered at his home, from which his landlord evicted him, Balmes said.
When police received the third call from the man around 6:30 p.m., officers, who were aware of a pending order of protection requested by the landlord, instructed the man to meet them at a nearby gas station at routes 176 and 43.

The department asked Lake Bluff for backup because the man had threatened to shoot police three years ago, Balmes said.
“There were no threats that particular day,” she said of the Oct. 14 incident, and no formal report was made.
