FAH4K: More than 300 children and adults will gather for the Lake Forest Police Department’s annual Bike Rodeo, Saturday, July 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Deerpath and Oakwood parking lot (just west of City Hall). Fill a Heart 4 Kids (FAH4K) will be among several local charities to participate with fun activities, including the launch of their Lemonade 4 Brighter Futures™.

The event will kick-off with the presentation of brand-new bikes to nine young foster boys – the first bike for each of them to call their own. Patrons can meet Chase, Lake Forest Police Department’s K9, participate in bike challenge courses, learn bike safety tips, watch amazing tricks by Waukegan BMX racers, listen to music, and enjoy games, bounce houses, a Touch the Truck display of city and fire trucks, and more. Bike helmets will be given to the first 200 participants.

The Lemonade 4 Brighter FuturesÔbooth will feature arts and crafts activities, face painting and complimentary lemonade. Patrons can also pick up supplies to host a Lemonade Stand fundraising event to raise funds for school supplies for local homeless and foster children. Participants are asked to host their Lemonade Stand and deliver donations to FAH4K, located in the Gorton Community Center, by Saturday, August 31. Funds raised will be used to purchase school supplies for 1,350 local unaccompanied homeless youth and foster children so they can go to school equipped for academic success. In 2018, FAH4K delivered over 30,500 school supplies throughout the year to help keep homeless and foster youth worry-free and in school.
