Gorton Participating in Lake Forest Station Pop Up
Gorton Community Center will join other area nonprofits in selling local and unique items at the Lake Forest Station Pop Up Shop

(Lake Forest, Illinois) The city of Lake Forest will reopen its pop up shop, called the Lake Forest Station, at the East Lake Forest train station on Thursday, April 29, 2021. The shop will cater to those shopping for moms, dads and grads this spring, and will feature Gorton Community Center as well as many other Lake Forest nonprofit organizations.
Gorton will be selling hand-poured soy candles, its Quarantine Cookbook - recipes gathered from our community during the pandemic in 2020, and delicious foods prepared by Gorton cooking instructor Marina Boldrini.
Lake Forest Station will open Thursday, April 29, 2021 through Saturday, June 19, 2021 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 5:00PM. Special shopping days will be added during Mother’s and Father’s Days weeks, along with some special event Saturdays.

Gorton Community Center is a nonprofit 501c3 organization that operates to enrich the lives of its residents through cultural arts, education and charitable service. The John & Nancy Hughes Theater is a state-of-the-art performing arts venue that has become the signature of Gorton Community Center. The entrance leads visitors into a stunning 309-seat theater with state of the art technology systems. The theater offers children, teens and adults the unforgettable experience of performing on stage or attending events close to home.Gorton relies on the generosity of residents and businesses to help fund programs & services offered in the historic building. Gorton is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
