Gorman E. "Butch" Dodson Sr., age 79 of Gurnee, passed on May 22, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Janice for 47 years. Loving dad of Gorman "Gene" Dodson Jr., Tanya (Jacob) Novak, Natalie Hagstrom. Cherished Papa of Jimmy Dodson; Andrew, Callie, Evan, and Alyssa Novak; Shailie Loyd and Eli Hagstrom. Great grandpa of Kayden and Karlee Dodson. Son of the late Ola Mae Moylan and the late Samuel Fred Dodson. Step-son of the late Chester Morris, and the late Clarence Moylan. Brother of Chester "Chet" (Linda) Moylan, Steven "Steve" (Loretta) Moylan, Susan "Sue" (Jim Reeder) Moylan, Constance Moylan, the late Fred "Delano" (Jo) Dodson, the late Shirley (the late Harry) Johnson, the late Kay (Jerry) Arnold. Nephew of Opal Lewis, and the late Omer Crabtree. Son-in-law of Ethel Zoe (the late Rollin) Brown. Brother-in-law of Gary (Gerry) Brown. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Proud daddy of his fur babies Ellie and Foxy.

Gorman worked at National Tea Company / A&P Tea Company, ComEd Nuclear Power Plant in Zion, and DB Aviation / Landmark Aviation Waukegan Airport. He was an avid Packers fan, enjoyed watching NASCAR races, and loved his cars and spending time working on them. Gorman enjoyed his grandkids immensely, watching them play sports, and was always the best babysitter for his grandkids. Gorman was always there to help his family, whether it was fixing something they needed at home, at his wife's barber shop, or rides any of his grandkids needed.
Life celebration will be held Wednesday from 4-7 PM, at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee.
