Halas Descendant Buys Home in Lake Forest

Ed McCaskey Jr.'s purchase strengthens the Chicago Bears' ties to the city.

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Chicago Bears’ connection to Lake Forest has always been strong, and that probably won’t change for a long time.

Ed McCaskey Jr., a great-grandson of George Halas and grandson of Virginia Halas McCaskey, bought a three-bedroom townhome on Westbridge Circle with his wife, Katherine, according to Crain’s Chicago. The home sold of a little more than $936,000 and is within two miles of Halas Hall, the football team’s practice facility named after Ed’s great-grandfather.

An internal wholesaler of unit investment trusts at First Trust, McCaskey is one of six family members on the Bears’ nine-person board. His father, Patrick McCaskey, one of 11 children of the first Ed McCaskey and Virginia Halas McCaskey, is the Bears’ senior director of special projects.
