Lake Forest Boys Lacrosse Partnership Announced
Changes are underway as the Lake Forest Lacrosse Association teams up with the city's Parks and Recreation Department.

From Lake Forest Parks & Recreation Department: The Lake Forest Parks & Recreation Department (LFPRD) and Lake Forest Lacrosse Association (LFLA) have partnered to build the most robust and successful Boys Lacrosse program in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff. This partnership allows players with talent and interest to continue to play and develop their lacrosse abilities in a seamless manner between both organizations, leading up to play at the High School level. Tryouts for LFLA Elite teams will take place in February 2018 and LFRD Travel teams begin April 10, 2018.
This combined Lake Forest Lacrosse program will benefit players and their parents by:
- providing professional coaching to all players;
- more closely matching each player’s skill level with the appropriate teammates and competition;
- lowering the cost per training hour for most players; and
- providing outstanding fields in closer proximity for both practices and games.
Players who play for either LFLA or LFRD will sign up through the LFRD registration system. Try outs will be held in February for potential LFLA Elite teams, but, will be conducted by officials from both organizations. Players who do not make LFLA Elite teams, will have the opportunity to play in the LFRD Junior Scout’s Travel program, to further develop their skills in a competitive and fun environment with their friends.

Players who make LFLA teams will experience a more competitive and longer season than players in the Junior Scouts Program and will play in several tournaments through the course of their season. Both programs will partner to ensure that players have the opportunity to train with professional coaches, and provide for flexibility in roster adjustment before, during and after the spring season. Teams in both organizations will play their spring seasons in the Illinois Boys Lacrosse Association (IBLA). Elite teams will play in either A or B divisions, while the Travel teams will play in B or C divisions.
Officials from both LFLA and LFRD are truly excited to ink this partnership as this is the next step in offering our community the best possible Boys Lacrosse experience for ALL players. The confirmed date and location of try outs for LFLA teams will be communicated before the New Year. Registration will open in December 2017 with a registration deadline of March 1, 2018.
