LAKE FOREST-LAKE BLUFF, IL — Two slates of school board candidates backed by the Lake Forest Caucus fended off challenges and Regis Charlot is poised to become the next Lake Bluff village president, according to unofficial election results.

Voters were presented with rival slates of candidates in Lake Forest High School District 67 and Lake Forest Community High School District 115. Seats on the Lake Bluff School District 65 school board were uncontested.

The political action committee Right Track, or Residents United to Protect Our Schools, also supported the caucus-backed slates, according to a campaign website sponsored by both groups.

Results from the Lake County Clerk's Office Tuesday night showed the Caucus-backed candidates with leads of greater than 330 votes in both District 115 and District 67.

In Lake Bluff, after the coronavirus led to the cancellation of the traditional slating meeting for the village's caucus group — Vote Lake Bluff — two candidates squared off in a race to succeed outgoing Lake Bluff Village President Kathy O'Hara.

With no caucus endorsement encouraging a narrowed field, five hopefuls entered the race for Lake Bluff village trustee.

In early unofficial election day voting results Tuesday night, Trustee Regis Charlot held a 271-vote lead over Trustee Bill Meyer in the village president race.

Susan Rider and Taryn Fisher led the field of trustee candidates, while Kate Briand had a lead of more than 100 votes over Trustee Aaron Towle for the final spot on the Lake Bluff Village Board.
