Lake Forest Library extends hours and services beginning June 1

Online services, virtual events, and Foyer Holds Pickup also continue to be available for patrons not ready to visit in person

If you haven't already been visiting Lake Forest Library again in person, now is a great time to return with more open hours and restored services beginning June 1! Details at www.lakeforestlibrary.org.

Hours restored

Monday–Thursday
9:00 am–9:00 pm

Friday
9:00 am–6:00 pm

Saturday
9:00 am–5:00 pm

Services restored

  • Increased building capacity to 60% and extended visit time
  • Kasian Room available for extended seating and social distancing
  • Current magazines available to read in the Reading Room (no longer available to check out)
  • Media Lab use by appointment

Services already available that will continue

  • Foyer Holds Pickup
  • Virtual programs (and some programs in the Courtyards, on the Library front lawn, and at outside locations around town)
  • Self-Check Machine for DIY socially distanced checkout
  • Temporary Library Card signup
  • In-person visits to browse the collections, read in the Reading Room, and use copiers and public computers

  • Mask REQUIRED
    • Everyone in the Children's Library
    • Unvaccinated patrons
  • Mask RECOMMENDED
    • Fully vaccinated patrons
  • Social distancing required
  • Staff remains masked and plexiglass remain at service desks
  • Regular cleaning of high-touch surfaces
