Lake Forest Man Wanted on Charges of Sexually Assaulting Student

The sheriff's office believes the man, who teaches in another school district, fled to Germany.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Lake Forest man who teaches in the Gavin School District in Ingleside who is accused of sexually assaulting a student under the age of 13.

Michael R. Vucic, 41, of the 100 block of East Laurel Ave., may have fled to Germany, according to a press release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest warrant was issued Friday for five counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and five courts of criminal sexual assault, the release says. Bond was set at $1 million.

The female victim told her grandparents on Monday that Vucic had inappropriate sexual contact with her multiple times in 2012, according to the sheriff’s office.

“We are requesting anyone who has additional information or who has been a victim of Vucic to contact our non-emergency communications center at 847 549 5200,” the sheriff’s office says in the release.
