On Friday, May 24 Debbie Schmitz was called to heaven at age 61. God must have needed the nicest person in the world because that’s who he got.
Those who will miss Debbie’s compassion, smile and big heart include husband Dave Meyer of Grayslake, IL; Erich Schmitz and wife Jamie of Walnut Creek, CA; sister Anne Howell and husband Brad of San Ramon, CA; and brother Peter Weber of Mesa, AZ.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Regina Weber of Fountain Hills, AZ.

Debbie was born in South Bend, IN but grew up in Lincolnshire, IL, attending Stevenson High School (occasionally). After high school she appropriately pursued a nursing career; selflessly helping people was something she naturally did. Debbie worked in ICU, home health care and case management for 19 years at Lake Forest Hospital. After that she worked for Baxter Healthcare and Trustmark Insurance Company. Most recently she was doing pharmacovigilance work for two pharmaceutical companies.
Debbie adored Erich, loved traveling with Dave, and cheered for the Cubs, Blackhawks and Bears. Her friends describe her as a beautiful person, sweet, strong, a true angel and one of the kindest souls I’ve ever met.
