John D. Edelman, 81, of Lake Forest, IL, passed to eternal life early on August 3rd, 2014.

Loving husband of 55 years to Ruth (nee Robertson); proud father of Catherine (Steve) Voss of Sussex, WI; John (Susan) of Grapevine, TX; and Susan (John) Kobza of Lake Forest; adored grandfather of Rebecca, Elizabeth, Gabriel, Jennifer, Jonas and Allison; and loving brother of Mary (Tom) Murphy, and Joe (Jean) Edelman. He was preceded in death by parents Tony and Peg Edelman and sister Bette (Charlie) Goldsworthy.

John graduated from St. Norbert College and enjoyed a successful career in sales spanning several industries.

A long-time parishioner of the Church of St. Mary in Lake Forest and Holy Family Catholic Parish in Minocqua, WI, John possessed a contagious love for life and enjoyed spending time with his family on skiing vacations and at the family lake home in Minocqua, WI.

Visitation will be at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 Vine Ave., Lake Forest, IL on Friday August 8th from 6pm to 8pm followed a Rosary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Rd., Lake Forest on Saturday, August 9th at 11:30am. Info – www.wenbanfh.com or 847-234-0022.
