Lake Forest Obituary: Theodore Dwight Hazen, Jr., 77

Theodore Dwight Hazen, Jr., 77, long time resident of Bird Key, Sarasota, FL and formerly of Lake Forest, IL passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 19th surrounded by loved ones.
He was born in Rockford, IL to Jean McLean Hazen and Theodore Dwight Hazen, Sr. He attended Lake Forest Country Day School, Lake Forest Academy, and graduated from Lake Forest High School; Hazen went on to attend the University of the South in Sewanee, TN and graduated with a business degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Mr. Hazen was employed by the EIDuPont Company in the Textile Fibers Division in Wilmington, DE and Manhattan, NY before joining the Goodbody & Co Brokerage Firm in Chicago IL. When Goodbody merged with Merrill Lynch, Hazen stayed on to become a Vice-President and member of the Chairman’s Club.
Hazen spent his retirement years in Sarasota, FL where he frequently could be found dining with friends at the Serving Spoon Restaurant or Patrick’s Bar and Grill.

He is survived by his two sons, Christopher J. Hazen (Kathy Jepson) of Telluride, CO, Bradford D. Hazen of Pinewood Springs, CO, his daughter Dr. Suzanne M. Hazen (Brandon Campbell) of Telluride, CO, four grandchildren, Fischer L. Hazen, Terra L. Hazen, C. Connor Hazen, and Jackson E. Campbell. He was preceded in death by both his parents and his only brother, William J. Hazen.
Burial will be in Lake Forest Cemetery on Saturday, October 25th at 2 p.m. with a graveside memorial for family and close friends.
