Lake Forest Pedestrian Train Death Officially Ruled an Accident

The coroner has closed the case on Mark Worden's death in June.

Pedestrian Mark Worden’s death has officially been ruled an accident by the Lake County Coroner’s Office, according to an article in the Lake County News-Sun.

Worden, 59, was dropped off by a co-worker at the West Lake Forest Metra station June 17 a little before 8 p.m. after a company picnic. Worden ran across the tracks and was hit by a freight train that was unable to stop.

The coroner’s office said there were no drugs, alcohol or other substances in his system at the time of his death, the News-Sun reports.
