Lake Forest's 2014 Budget to Fund Improvement Projects

The Lake Forest City Council unanimously approved an $82.7 million fiscal year budget, which includes more than $12.4 million in capital improvement projects.

The Lake Forest City Council unanimously approved its 2014 fiscal year budget last week, the Chicago Tribune reports. The budget, which totals $82.7 million, includes more than $12.4 million in capital improvement projects.

Other notable facts about this year's budget are that it is about 10 percent bigger than 2013's budget, according to the Tribune, though that is mostly due to the $6.6 million in state and federal grants the city received to fund renovations to the Metra station, construction of an underpass at the Westside station and improvements to the intersection at Westleigh and Waukegan roads.
