LAKE FOREST, IL — USA Swimming announced today that Lake Forest resident MaryGrace King has been selected to participate in USA Swimming’s Central Zone Select Camp to be held May 23 – 26 at the University of Cincinnati. The elite camp features 56 emerging swimmers from across the Midwest, all selected from performances over the past season.

“We are extremely proud to have MaryGrace representing the Lake Forest Swim Club at the Central Zone Select Camp,” said Lake Forest Swim Club Head Coach, Michael Lawrence. “This honor reflects the hard work she’s put into training this year and is the first step toward her life-long dream of swimming at the 2020 Olympic Trials. MG has been a top-tier swimmer in Illinois for several years and it is a great achievement to be recognized as one of the best in the country.”

MaryGrace and her Team USA teammates will participate in five training sessions over four days in the Olympic-size pool at the university. She will also engage with professional support staff to learn more about post-race recovery, nutrition, race strategies, and vital sport psychology skills. “We hope that MG will return and share her experience and learning with her LFSC teammates,” says Coach Lawrence, “further enabling them to reach new levels of performance.”
