Come to the League of Women Voters’ fall kick-off social “Common Core and Conversation” on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Re-invent Gallery, 202 E. Wisconsin Ave., Lake Forest. Enjoy wine and canapés while listening to Michael Simeck, Superintendent of School Districts 67 and 115, and Dr. Kevin Rubenstein, Director of Curriculum for District 65. After their short presentations, there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. As state standards are being implemented nationally, some concerns have arisen. This is a great opportunity to hear answers regarding your specific issues.
