LFHS Girls Lacrosse Wins Sectional Championship

With Friday's 11-3 win over Stevenson, the Scouts move on to face New Trier Tuesday in Lake Forest.

LAKE FOREST, IL — The Lake Forest High School girls lacrosse team defeated Stevenson High School 11-3 to win the sectional championship Friday in Gurnee. The win followed a 13-3 victory for the Scouts over Carmel in the sectional semifinals. Audrey Kaus tallied four goals, Kara Antonucci scored three and Ginger Leonardi added two, while Gracie McGowan and Caroline Skinner each added goals and Mary Doheny had four saves.

The Scouts will face New Trier High School at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lake Forest. The Trevians beat Glenbrook South High School 14-8 in Northbrook. The winner of Tuesday night's super-sectional showdown will take on either Naperville North or the St. Charles East co-op squad Friday at Hinsdale Central in the state semifinal.
