LFHS Places 4th and 6th At National Dance Team Championship
The Lake Forest High School Varsity Dance team followed a 3rd place finish at state with impressive performances at nationals.
LAKE FOREST, IL — The Lake Forest High School Varsity Dance Team picked up two top 10 finishes last weekend at the 2018 National Dance Championship. The Scouts traveled to Orlando, Florida for the Feb. 3 and 4 event and placed fourth in the pom category and sixth in the jazz category for medium schools.
Attracting dance teams from across the country, the national championship gets bigger and feels more competitive every year, the school said in a news release. LFHS was the only team in their group that went directly to the finals from the preliminary round in the pom division.
Meanwhile, Lake Forest was one of 18 finalists in the jazz category. (See the full results below.)

The Scouts' trip to the national championship followed their third place finish at last month's IHSA 2A Dance State finals, where they were narrowly edged out by Geneva by a score of 94.94 to 94.12.
