Long-Time Superintendent of Lake Forest Parks, Recreation and Forestry Dept. Dies

Edward Smith, who lived in Lake Bluff, was 84.

Edward M. Smith, 84, of Lake Bluff and formerly Lake Forest passed away July 23, 2014.

He was a long time superintendent of the Lake Forest Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department. He was a member of the McKinlock Post #264 American Legion and active at the Lake Forest Senior Center.

Beloved husband of Gerry F. Smith; cherished father of Martin (Edie), Michael (Angela) and Laura (Terry) Brumback; proud grandfather “papa” of Kirsten, Samantha and Elyse Smith; fond great-grandfather of Logan; adored brother of Sidney P. (the late Pat) and Laurence (Marilon) Smith and loved uncle of many.

Memorial visitation from 10 a.m. until the 12 noon memorial service on Saturday, August 2 at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 Vine Ave., Lake Forest. Interment private. Info – 847-234-0022 or www.wenbanfh.com.
