Lovie Smith Takes Loss on Lake Forest Home

The former Chicago Bears coach unloaded his 13-room home in the north suburb for less than what he paid.

Former Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith won more than he lost on the field during his nine-year stint as field boss of the Monsters of the Midway (81 wins, 63 losses), but he did not come out ahead on the home he owned in the area.

Smith sold his 13-room brick house in Lake Forest for $1.45 million, according to Chicago Tribune ‘Elite Street’ reports. He bought it for $1.625 million in 2004, his first year leading the Bears.

It wasn’t like Smith didn’t try to get ahead on the deal. He listed the home - which has a rec room, billiards area and workout room - in 2014 for $1.999 million and later for $1.695.
