Report Potholes In Lake Forest Roads

As pavement freezes, thaws and freezes again, North Shore communities are asking residents to report potholes causing problems on the roads.

LAKE FOREST, IL — With drastic weather changes across the area as roads freeze, thaw and freeze again, drivers are facing new road hazards as pavement deteriorates. Pothole season is in full effect, with temperature swings of more than 50 degrees in less than a week.

As moist asphalt repeatedly freezes and thaws, the potholes that emerge can cause significant damage to your car. Meanwhile, drivers attempting to avoid holes in the road risk danger from traffic in other lanes. Local crews are out across the area with cold-weather patching before permanent fixes are available when asphalt plants open in the spring.

How can you report potholes in your North Shore town? It depends which public body is responsible for the maintenance of damaged payment. Once safely off the road, find out who to contact below and let roadway authorities know where repairs are needed.
