LAKE BLUFF, IL — The former home of 80's soft rock icon Richard Marx is still "Right Here Waiting" for a buyer nearly two and a half years after it was first listed for $18 million.

The most recent price reductions of $600,000 last week dropped the price down to $11.3 million for the massive mansion that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Designed by David Adler and built for the family of meatpacking heir Lester Armour in 1931, the house was originally situated on a 73-acre estate, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Highland Park native Richard Marx and his ex-wife Cynthia Rhodes remodeled the home significantly after buying it for $4.7 million, making significant changes, including the addition of a recording studio.

The house “is a very special place. It was an amazing space to raise a family and a great workspace for me,” Marx told Bloomberg last year.
