Volunteers Help Local Seniors Sign Up For Vaccine Appointments
The "Vaccination Buddies" program in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff aims to help senior citizens navigate the COVID-19 vaccine sign-up process.

LAKE FOREST, IL — A small group of Lake Forest and Lake Bluff residents has teamed up with the local senior center to volunteer as "vaccination buddies" to help local senior citizens complete the coronavirus vaccine sign-up process.
With high demand for limited appointments for jabs, and much of the sign-up process requiring internet and computer literacy, some seniors have been unable to navigate the appointment booking systems independently.
The LF/LB Vaccination Buddies program allows volunteers to offer support to seniors remotely, helping work through various websites and secure transportation to a vaccine appointment.
