Woman Fatally Shot While Sitting In Car In North Chicago
Police said a 47-year-old woman died after a car pulled up and someone inside opened fire Sunday morning in North Chicago.

NORTH CHICAGO, IL — The Lake County Major Crimes Task Force has opened an investigation into fatal shooting of a woman early Sunday inside a parked car in North Chicago.
Shortly after midnight, a man and a woman were sitting in a parked car in the 1500 block of Lincoln Street when they were confronted by another car on the one-way street, according to a statement from the task force.
The other car drove past them and parked directly in front of them. Someone inside the other car pulled out a gun and fired several shots into the other car before fleeing.

No descriptions of the shooter or their vehicle were available from authorities as of Monday.
The woman sitting in the passenger seat was hit. The driver was not. He drove to the nearby North Chicago police and fire department building to try to get medical attention for the woman, according to the task force statement.

The passenger suffered "significant injuries" in the shooting and did not survive.
She was later identified as Pamela Ismailjoski, 45, of Zion, and the preliminary results of an autopsy indicated she died due to gunshot wounds, according to the Lake County Coroner Office.
