Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart’s production of “Fantastic Mr. Fox” by Roald Dahl/dramatized by Sally Reid will be performed three times in the Susan Saint James Performing Arts Center at the all-girls high school, 760 E. Westleigh Road, Lake Forest. Curtain time is 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, Friday, Nov. 8, and Saturday, Nov. 9.

The play is based on a children’s novel about a clever fox, his family and animal friends that was published in both the U.S. and U.K. in 1970. Like many of Dahl’s works, it’s the story of an underdog’s triumph over cruel and selfish forces. “Fantastic Mr. Fox” also explores the importance of family, pride and the power of intelligence. It even includes an environmental message, focusing on the conflict between man and the natural world. In 1994, “Fantastic Mr. Fox” received the Read Aloud BILBY Award from the Children's Book Council of Australia.

Tickets for Woodlands Academy’s production of “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” which are $10 at the door, can be purchased for $8 in advance at the school. For more information, call 847-234-4300 or visit woodlandsacademy.org.
