Woodlands Academy presents ‘Peter Pan’ musical Feb. 27-29

The musical “Peter Pan” will be presented three times at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart. All performances are in the Susan Saint James Performing Arts Center at Woodlands Academy, 760 E. Westleigh Road, Lake Forest, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020.

Broadway’s original musical version of J. M. Barrie's play about a young boy who refuses to grow up starred Mary Martin as Peter Pan and Cyril Ritchard as Captain Hook in 1954. Since then this popular show has enjoyed several television presentations and revivals onstage.

It’s a story about Peter’s quest to find stories with which to entertain his young cohorts in Neverland, an island refuge for lost boys. To do so, Peter returns to the real world where he meets Wendy, Michael and John Darling. The Darling children accompany Peter back to the magical Neverland, where they learn to fly, get involved in all sorts of adventures, defeat the evil Captain Hook, and are changed forever.
