The journey from high school to college basketball will be a very short one for Woodlands Academy of the Sacred point guard Annie Pulaski. The senior from Waukegan signed a Letter of Intent Feb. 20 to attend Lake Forest College this fall during a ceremony at the neighboring all-girls college-preparatory high school in Lake Forest.

Pulaski was the Wildcat’s leading scorer this season, averaging nearly 15 points per game. During her four-year varsity career at Woodlands Academy, she scored a total of nearly 750 points. Led by her and four other starting seniors (including twin sister Ava), the Wildcats finished the season with a 5-2 conference record (13-9 overall), tied for second place in the Independent School League girls basketball standings.

Pulaski was surrounded by teammates and other enthusiastic members of the Woodlands Academy community as she signed her Letter of Intent to play for the Foresters women’s basketball team. Pulaski said being part of this Wildcats basketball team the past four years has meant so much to her. “It’s not how good you are, but the bonds you create that will last a lifetime,” she said.

In addition to basketball, Pulaski also played varsity field hockey and soccer at Woodlands Academy. She considers herself still undecided about the future but currently is considering college courses that could lead to a career in sports psychology.
