ZION, IL (May 26, 2021) - Superintendent Dr. Keely Roberts will host Zion Elementary School District 6’s second-annual “Virtual Closure Concert” on May 26 from 7 to 8 pm.

The second-annual virtual Closure Concert has staff vocal performances, alumni performances, student band performances, student art displays, and much more. This concert establishes the idea of coming together with songs such as “Holy War,” “Stand by Me,” and “Come Together.”

Dr. Robert says, “The staff this year… certainly is a reminder that they are the heart of what we do here in the district. Without the staff, the accomplishments of this year would not have been possible.”

District 6 has allowed families to choose their learning pathways since the beginning of the school year. These pathways were online our “Clicks” model as well as in-person our “Bricks” model. The Virtual Closure Concert is one of the last celebrations District 6 has planned to celebrate this year’s accomplishments.

In 2020, Dr. Roberts received the Administrator Award for Distinguished Support of Music Education from the Save The Music Foundation. This annual award recognizes one superintendent or school district CEO who exhibits commitment to restoring music education in his or her district. District 6 has been a Save The Music Foundation partner since 2017.
