CHICAGO, IL - Chicago’s first case of the Zika virus was reported at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Lakeview.

The woman has fully recovered, according to multiple media reports. She was not pregnant and it is not believed she contracted the disease in Illinois, but rather Columbia, where she had recently traveled.

She is in her 30s and was tested for several things in late January by her primary care physician and recovered on her own, according to ABC 7 Chicago. Her positive Zika result was confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control.
