2013 Worst Year for Robbery in Lake View
Robberies in Lake View are up since 2012, with 234 robberies to date in 2013.

2013 has been the worst year for robberies in Lake View, according to the blog Crime in Wrigleyville and Boystown (CWB). As of December 9, there were 233 robberies in Lake View. That's compared to 226 robberies in 2012 by that date, 172 in 2008 and 136 in 2008.
On Tues. Dec. 10, Lake View had its 234th robbery of the year at the intersection of Cornelia and Elaine Place, CWB states. This means that Lake View has, for the past three years, broken its record for the most robberies in the area.
This news comes days after a study by Yale University found that Lake View was one of only 10 Chicago neighborhoods that experienced an increase of crime between 2011 and 2013.
