UPDATE: 3 Stabbed in 2 Separate Weekend Attacks in Lake View

One man was stabbed in the head, and two others were hit with bottles as they were robbed, police say.

Three men were seriously, if not critically, injured in two separate attacks in Lake View Sunday morning, police say.

First, a man believed to be in his 30s was found on Sheridan Road near Pine Grove Avenue around 2 a.m. Sunday with a stab wound in the back of the head, WGN reports. The man was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, but was uncooperative with police and did not detail what led up to the attack.

Robert Mitchell, who is known as Cyon Flare in Chicago's LGBT community, did not witness the stabbing but found the man staggering down the street.

"I felt helpless," Mitchell told ChicagoPride.com. "He was bleeding profusely."

Three hours later at around 5 a.m., a large group of people attacked two 21-and 25-year-old men with bottles when one of their phones was taken, the Chicago Tribune reports. The group chased one of them into an alley where he was stabbed in the face.

Both were taken to Advocate in serious condition for treatment while police took three people into custody for the attack.

It’s unclear whether either attack was linked to Pride Fest, as the festival ended many hours before the two attacks.

"The Pride Fest area was closed," said Mitchell, who described an unruly late night crowd after festival hours. "... The Northalsted Business Alliance does a very good job making sure security is there for anyone who gets out of line," said Mitchell. "They did a very good job with having extra security."
