4 Injured, Including 2 Officers, In Lake View Apartment Fire

CHICAGO — Two Lake View residents and two Chicago police officers were hospitalized after a fire broke out Saturday on Lake Shore Drive, fire officials said. Firefighters arrived on scene at about noon.

The fire broke out on the fifth floor of an apartment building in the 3300 block of North Lake Shore Drive, authorities said.

Two people, whose ages were not known, were taken to area hospitals in serious and critical condition, fire officials said. The two officers were listed in good condition.

It took about an hour for firefighters to extinguish the blaze, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

An investigation into the cause of the fire was underway.
