A Turkey Trot and Two Turkey Bar Crawls

Turkey Trot: Already counting your Thanksgiving calories? Kick off the day with the Chicago Turkey Trot, where runners, joggers and walkers area all invited to the 5k course in Lincoln Park. Registration is $35. Thursday Nov. 28, 9 a.m., Lincoln Park. Registration Fees Vary.

Turkey Trolly Trot: If you prefer your Thanksgiving meals with a side of hangovers (or you want to kick off Thanksgiving weekend with a fun night out), sign up for the Turkey Trolly Trot. The Thanksgiving-eve event will go to McGee's, Durkin's, Duffy's and Redmond's. Registration includes a food buffet, domestic drafts, pilgrim punch and trolly transportation. Wednesday Nov. 27, 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. Locations Vary. $25 presale, $30 at the door. 
Turkey Crawl in Wrigleyville: Not to be outdone, Wrigleyville is hosting its own pre-Thanksgiving pub crawl. Tickets include three drink vouchers and a buffet. Participating bars include Rebel, Rockwood Place, Mullen's, Bar Celona, O'Malley's Liquor Kitchen and Deuce's and the Diamond Club. Wednesday Nov. 27, 7 p.m. until 2 a.m. Locations Vary. $20 tickets online. 
Music Box Theatre Celebrates 30 Years: The Music Box Theatre is celebrating 30 years from Nov. 22 until Dec. 5. The Southport theater is dedicating the final two weeks of the Fall 2013 calendar to replicating the kind of movies the theater showed when it first began — each day will be a different double-feature, and the two movies will have a unifying theme.
