The Alley Cafe Holds Grand Opening In Lake View

The Clark Street cafe offers waffle pops, pizza and craft beers.

CHICAGO, IL — A Lake View cafe held it's grand opening over the weekend, and handed out free waffle pops, pizza and coffee to celebrate. The Alley 1776 Cafe at 3221 N. Clark offers Michael Marcello's waffle pops and coffee from Dark Matter Roasters. The cafe sits across from the long-time punk and goth store The Alley, which closed in 2016.

The store's owner Mark Thomas worked with Michael Markellos, owner of Philly's Best, to create the new cafe with a twist. The cafe also offers pizza slices, salads, sandwiches and craft beer.

The Alley 1776 Cafe doesn't have the space for a big kitchen, so it's working with local businesses to round out its menu:
