Amazon to Open Bookstore in Lake View
The online retail giant targets Chicago for one of its first physical locations.
CHICAGO, IL - Amazon plans to open a brick-and-mortar bookstore in Chicago’s Lake View neighborhood. It will be one of the online retail giant’s first physical locations.
The store will open next summer at the former Mystic Celt bar and restaurant location at 3443 N. Southport in Wrigleyville, according to a Chicago Tribune report. Amazon spokeswoman Deborah Bass said the company is “excited” to bring Amazon Books to Chicago in a statement confirming the plans.
Amazon opened its first brick-and-mortar bookstore in Seattle last November, a pair of others planned in Oregon and one in San Diego.
