Bombay Bliss Brings Indian Flair to Lake View (PHOTOS)

The new restaurant opened Tuesday, combining storefronts formerly home to Ted's cleaners and Crazy Chicken

Those itching to find authentic Indian cuisine since Standard India shuttered are now in luck: Bombay Bliss is now open in Lake View.

The restaurant opened Tuesday morning for the first time at 3108 N. Broadway St., combining two storefronts formerly home to Ted’s Cleaners and Crazy Chicken on Barry Avenue.

It’s a creation from owner Mumtaz Rizvi, who also owns The Little India restaurant in Edgewater. But Mumtaz says his Lake View location will be different, with a larger focus on dining.

“The Indian cuisine at Bombay Bliss ranges from traditional dishes such as Goan Lamb Vindaloo and Chicken Tikka Masala to Bombay Wraps with Falafel, Chicken or Beef Kabab and Indian-inspired salads like the Quinoa Cranberry Salad with Shredded Coconut,” a representative with the location said in a statement. “Classic Naan also gets some tasty variations such as the Spinach Basil Naan and Mushroom Naan.”

Bombay Bliss will be dine-in or carry-out, with delivery and catering available. The restaurant opens daily at 11 a.m., closing at 3 p.m. for cleaning, and reopening at 4 p.m. for the dinner crowd. Sunday through Thursday it will close at 10 p.m., while staying open until 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
