Boystown Transgender Rights Rally To Protest Trump Administration's Policy Reversal
The event Saturday afternoon will include speakers and a march down Halsted Street.

CHICAGO, IL — Speakers and a march through Boystown neighborhood streets will be part of a rally Saturday to protest this week's decision by President Donald Trump's administration to eliminate Obama-era protections for transgender students.
The event, called "Stand Up for Transgender Rights," will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, and participants will gather in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven at Roscoe and Halsted streets. As of Thursday night, more than 400 people have said on the rally's Facebook page that they will be attending the event.
"Obama administration guidance protecting trans youth in public schools is no more," the rally's Facebook page stated. "The Trump administration continues on its path of intolerance and hate, and because of that we must all stand up together for all members of the trans community including those who consider themselves as gender non-conforming, cisgendered, bi-gendered, Two Spirit, intersex, cross-dressers, queer, non-binary, drag kings or queens, queer, questioning, as well as the GLB community."
