CHICAGO, IL — Newly-released data reveal the Chicago neighborhoods that use Lyft, Uber and other on-demand taxi app companies the most. People on the North and Near West Sides use the apps more than other areas, according to the data. Lincoln Park and Lakeview top the list for the most Uber and Lyft use.
The Bucktown, Wicker Park and Logan Square area ranked third for Uber and Lyft use. Navy Pier, Mag Mile, Streeterville, Wrigleyville and Ukrainian Village also made the top-ten list.
Released by the Chicago-based nonprofit Shared Use Mobility Center, the data also reveals where most rides begin and end. It turns out people in Lincoln Park mostly use Lyft and Uber to go within their own neighborhood, or Lakeview.

The busiest times were Friday and Saturday evenings, and only a quarter of usage was during rush hour.
The Shared Use Mobility Center analyzed the data, according to a report by Crain's Chicago Business. The nonprofit said the ridership data was provided by a ride share app company, but has not revealed which one. The data was taken from a small time frame—May 2016—and tracks riders by ZIP code.
