Dryhop Brewers Announces Official Opening Date

The highly anticipated new bar and restaurant DryHop Brewers in East Lake View will officially open on June 13, representatives with the restaurant announced Thursday.

Located at 3155 N. Broadway, the 3,000-square-foot gastro brewpub will focus on small-plate food, a trendy brewery atmosphere and craft beer brewed in-house, even served to-go in growlers.

Owner Greg Shuff initially planned to open the gastro brewpub in December, but hit snags in construction and faced a slow permitting process. But since then he says crews have been moving quickly to get the space open by the summer.

“We’ve been running really smoothly construction wise,” Shuff said. “There have been no major holdups with inspections, and all the inspectors said they were really impressed with what we’ve done with the space.”

Shuff says all the brewery equipment is in, and his team is ready to brew up their in-house beer. Four are already ready for the opening day, and two more are being brewed up starting Thursday, he said.

And while the bar opens at 5 p.m. June 13, those interested in getting a sneak peek can head to DryHop June 8 from 1-3 p.m. to see the space, fill growlers and try out the various selection of beer.

“It’s open to the public, and anyone that shows up from 1 to 3 is welcome to come get a growler,” Shuff said.

Full lunch and dinner service will begin on June 14.
