Hearty to Reopen as "Vintage Seltzer and Burger Bar"

The restaurant will stay under the same ownership, and will reopen in February as Spritz Burger.

Hearty, 3819 N. Broadway, will be closing after their New Year's Day brunch and reopening a month later as Spritz Burger, according to an article by Eater Chicago. Owners Steve McDonagh and Dan Smith will reconcept the restaurant due to economics, changes in the neighborhood and a desire to collaborate with chef Gale Gand, who will be running Spritz Burger.

Sprtiz will feature a menu of signature burgers (like a  poutine burger and a breakfast burger with Spam) and cocktails made of house-made sodas and syrups, Eater states. There will also be plenty of house-made novelty ketchup. A few of the items on the current menu will also still be available. The restaurant hopes to retain its current staff, and owners are hoping that it will open in February.
