Rescued Pup Learns How to Live Like a Sea Otter

Shedd Aquarium experts are teaching this sea otter pup everything she needs to know after being rescued from a California beach.

Because there’s no such thing as otter school, a group of marine mammal experts helped a baby sea otter learn how to swim at the Shedd Aquarium. Found alone and struggling on a California beach, the pup was found by someone on an evening beach stroll near San Mateo. She weighed just 2 pounds. She was cared for at the Monterey Bay Aquarium for four weeks, according to the Shedd, and is now 6 pounds and measures 22 inches head to tail.
