Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams To Open Beside Wrigley Field

Get ready to enjoy the baseball-themed "Peanuts! Popcorn!" ice cream flavor in Lake View starting April 5.

CHICAGO, IL — Remember ice cream on a warm day at Wrigley Field? Well it's coming soon. Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams is opening a new location next to Wrigley off Waveland and Clark, just in time for the Cubs' home opener April 9 against the Pirates.

The ice cream shop will open at The Plaza at Wrigley, 3637 N. Clark Street, near Starbucks and Brickhouse Tavern. The shop will debut a new ice cream flavor: "Popcorn! Peanuts!" which will be available at all Jeni's shops. The very-Chicago flavor will include heirloom popcorn from Iowa, salty-sweet caramel and toffee-coated peanuts.

Jeni Britton Bauer, a James Beard Award-winning author of two cookbooks, founded Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams in 2002. There are currently four other shops in Chicago, and all serve artisan ice cream made from whole ingredients and dairy from grass-pastured cows.
