La Creperie Officially Closing Thursday After Owner's Son Dies

The popular French restaurant's final day is Thursday, weeks after the owners laid their son to rest.

Lake View’s La Creperie will shutter its doors for good Thursday evening, three weeks after the owners laid their son to rest.

The popular restaurant made the announcement in July just days after its 41-year anniversary. Weeks later, the owners found their 39-year-old son Jeremy Roignant dead from a heart attack.

The French restaurant at 2845 N. Clark St. celebrated the anniversary June 1, writing on its Facebook page, “Same family since 1972 … Thank you all for making it an amazing 41 years.”
