Lake View Crime Down 17 Percent
Lake View was ranked 11th out of the 22 police districts for robbery in 2013.

Overall crime in Lake View went down 17 percent in 2013, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Last year also saw a decrease in burglaries (down 39 percent), motor vehicle theft (down 18 percent) robbery (down four percent), aggravated battery (down eight percent) and murder (down 67 percent).
"Whether its a purse snatching or an assault or a shooting, one victim is one too many and that's why we're out there every day," said Adam Collins, Director of News Affairs for the CPD. "The progress we've seen city-wide is good, but we all feel that there's more work to be done."
District 19, which covers most of Lake View, was ranked 11th out of the 22 police districts for robberies in 2013.
