Lake View DSW Plans $300K Renovation

The DSW shoe store in the heart of Lake View will soon undergo a $300,000 renovation of its sales floor, according to permits obtained by Chicago Real Estate Daily.

Sitting at 3131 N. Clark St. at the intersection with North Halsted Street, the Designer Shoe Warehouse shares the massive storefront with Marshalls and Michaels. DSW is in the basement level.

The shoe retailer plans to redesign the nearly 18,000-square-foot sales floor, the majority of DSW’s almost 24,000-square-foot location, CRED writes. A spokesperson with the store did not return a request for comment on the renovation.

The entire building, which houses the three separate stores, was purchased in 2010 for $28.8 million, CRED discovered. It’s more than 95,000 square feet in total.
