Lake View's Movie in the Park Scheduled for Sunday
The family-friendly event is back with three movies residents can enjoy under the stars. See what this week's film will be.

The annual summer event Movies in the Park is back, and this Sunday a new movie will be aired under the stars.
This week's movie is the Dreamworks hit Despicable Me. The monthly event is hosted at the park behind Hawthorne Scholastic Academy, located near the corner of School Street and Seminary Avenue.
Released in 2010, Despicable Me is an animated movie about a criminal mastermind who has a change of heart after using three orphan girls for his scheme to take over the world.

The movies air at dusk, so when the sun goes down, the movie starts rolling. In addition, if it happens to rain, the movie will simply be aired one week later.
Back in June, residents enjoyed the movie Brave on the big screen. And on Aug. 11, Wreck it Ralph will be aired in the park.

The monthly event is sponsored by the community organization Hawthorne Neighbors. Putting on the event is no simple—or cheap— task. During the latest Hawthorne Neighbors meeting, organizers said they were ready to shell out roughly $1,400 to play just one of the movies in the park.
