Lakeshore Flower Shop Closes After 30 Years in Lake View
The local business held its final farewell party Friday, citing being struck with cancer and a willingness to retire after three decades in the community.

Owners of the local business Lakeshore Flower Shop gave their final farewells Friday, throwing a party to celebrate their final day in business after 30 years in Lake View.
Florist Rose Mary Ferrantelli and her husband Biagio have spent the last several months liquidating the store’s various goods at 3140 N. Broadway St.
“We sold a lot of it,” Rose Mary said. “Some guy came in and bought so much. I could have just kissed that guy!”
The store’s closure comes after Biagio was struck with cancer, causing the duo to make some tough decisions and finally retire after 40 years as florists. The Ferrantellis started at 1060 W. Bryn Mawr near Edgewater Beach in 1973, and then moved to Lake View years later.
While the couple will still maintains ownership of the storefront, they’ve yet to meet a prospective new tenant to fill the space.
