Man Accused Of Punching Cop, Woman In Wrigleyville

The man yelled racial slurs during the attacks, according to a report.

CHICAGO — A man has been charged with battery after two attacks in the Lakeview neighborhood. The man punched a 25-year-old woman and a police officer Saturday in Wrigleyville, according to a report.

Robert Buschman, 34, of Atlanta, was charged with a felony count of battery to a police officer and a misdemeanor count of battery.

The attacks occurred in the 3300 block of North Halsted Street at about 2 a.m., authorities said.

Prosecutors said the man went up to the woman and called her an "immigrant b---" according to NBC 5 Chicago. Officers said they saw the man punch the woman in the head, and intervened.

Prosecutors said Buschman then called one of the officers the n-word and punched him in the eye, according to the report.

Buschman's bail has been set at $5,000, and he's scheduled to appear at a hearing in Skokie Feb. 8.
