Man Charged In Lake View Armed Robbery

CHICAGO — A man was arrested Thursday morning after a woman was robbed in the Lake View neighborhood, police said. The man was arrested on a CTA Red Line train near Belmont station.

Police said the man pulled out a pellet gun and robbed a 27-year-old woman. He then took off and got on a Red Line train at the Belmont station.

An officer saw the man, pulled open the train doors and took him into custody, police said.

Xavier Lyons, 18, of the 7500 block of South Rhodes on the South Side, has been charged with one felony count of armed robbery with a dangerous weapon.
